Welcome to 4th grade! I'm very excited to spend this academic year with 4B students and families. This is my fifth year teaching at NDA . It is my first year teaching 4th grade. For the past four years I have taught 5th and 6th grade ELA, Reading and Religion. As such, I am very aware of what skills are required for success in middle school. I received my MS in Education from University of Bridgeport and my BA in English Literature and Theatre Arts from Salve Regina University. I am enthusiastic that we will share a rigorous, fun-filled and successful year together.
This summer I attended an Orton Gillingham professional development training program focused on supporting each reader to meet their highest potentiaI. I also attended a seminar aimed at incorporating mindfulness into the SEL component of the classroom. I feel this is particularly important this year as we all transition back to in-person learning. Student safety is one of my most important mandates. I will strive to provide a safe environment in our classroom. The best way to reach me is via email. I encourage you to contact me directly throughout the year. Communication is very important to your child's success. And I want every student to be successful!
